Characterization

How do authors tell us about characters? In today's lesson at Frolyc, you will learn about characterization.

1. Go to Frolyc and sign in with your code. Then, select the "Characterization" activity.

2. Complete other Frolyc activities that have been assigned to you. Don't forget that you have a water cycle quiz today--the Water Cycle activity would be a great review!

Story Elements: Unit 1

We are about to start our first unit for ELA, in which we will focus on characters and plot. These questions will guide us as we explore traditional and new stories:

-How do authors help us to learn about a character?
-What plot parts can we see in many stories?
-How can we follow the protagonist's journey?

In the computer lab, you will have several learning activities to accomplish.

1. At Frolyc, use the code that was given to you to sign in and complete the activity "Story Elements: Character and Plot".

2. Complete one other Frolyc activity. Choose from those assigned to you.

3. Practice the vocabulary terms at Quizlet.

4. Return to Frolyc. Complete other assigned activities until our time is finished.

Water Cycle Resources

Today you will be using a variety of computer resources to learn more about the water cycle. Your goal is to be able to create a meaningful, detailed diagram of the water cycle. Pay close attention to specialized terms and details!

Looking at Data

In science class, we looked at bird feeder data from the past two years. In groups, students worked to organize the data and draw conclusions. This was a hard task...the data is sometimes incomplete, hard to read, and tough to organize.

Creating a graph is a great way to show data. You can find an easy-to-use graph creation tool here:
